Check out the great article that ran in the Lafayette Daily Advertiser this weekend!
Good morning, friends, Sweet Crude is back on the bottling line!
Since taking over full ownership and management of Rank Wildcat in late December, 2014, I have implemented significant upgrades to Lulu the still and various other aspects of my operation.
In upcoming weeks, I will be aggressively ratcheting up production to 1) satisfy growing demand and 2) reintroduce Black Gold as soon as possible.
Stay tuned for updates and support Acadiana’s FIRST DISTILLERY!
Meaux is happy to acknowledge the efforts of his friends, John Sledge, III; David Buchholz; and Kevin Guarino (pictured in that order). Since the beginning, Guarino and Buchholz were instrumental in the fabrication of Lulu the still and much of the work necessary to transform an empty warehouse into a licensed distillery! Dr. Sledge’s general knowledge of rum itself and his specific expertise in distillation, barrel aging and blending made the 2014 debut of Black Gold possible. There is no doubt that Rank Wildcat Spirits would not be where it is today without these friends and the appreciation Meaux feels toward these gentlemen is lasting!
Understandably, many of you are eager to experience the dark rum we planned to launch this Holiday Season and we declare with conviction that the product is maturing beautifully. However, we determined that it has yet to realize its full potential and we wasted no time getting it back into the barrel. We refuse to do our customers the disservice of bringing a product to market before it is the best that it can be and we thank you all for your continued patience and support. As ever, our primary obligation is to deliver the finest artisan-craft spirits that Louisiana sugar cane can yield!
Please read the great piece “Local Spirits” in the October issue of FACE Magazine (page 10)! We are so proud of Louisiana for all its breweries, wineries, and (of course) distilleries! Thank yall for all your support!
Sweet Crude earned a Washington Cup in the 2013 Washington Cup Competition! The other 2013 winners include spirits made by Knob Creek and Buffalo Trace, and we are thrilled that a craft product from Louisiana’s smallest rum distillery is represented in such a small and prestigious group.
Check out this announcement in Baton Rouge’s 225 Magazine! Red Stick, here we come!
